Let The Sun Shine In

I am very fortunate to have an abundance of vegetation growing in my yard. There is a lovely Japanese maple growing quite large in one corner, then there is an orange and a lemon tree giving off light, citrus smells in another. There is also a faint smell of lilacs in the air. It's the perfect time to sit on my swinging bench and curl up with a book.

On another note, the contest is supposed to end on Sunday, but I am considering extending it for those who have expressed that they are still needing more time. I'd appreciate it if anyone who is planning on entering please let me know that you are still 100% going to enter, otherwise if no one is planning on it still, then I will simply end it as scheduled.

"Pack Your Bags" Contest Prize

Here it is at last; the prize for the winner of the "Pack Your Bags Contest". I know people usually like to see the prize ahead of time, but have been so busy hadn't gotten around to getting it...until now. Let's see what we have here for the lucky winner:

Overview of entire prize

Travel purse with scarf in tropical shades; thought it would be nice strolling along the beach or boardwalk (or wherever)

Pack of eco-friendly makeup brushes, easily packed in a suitcase or bag

Jessica Simpson wallet in bright colors (looked fun and summery to me)

Adorable leopard eye/sleep mask which can be frozen or heated

Two nail polishes, lip gloss and eyeshadow compact in cool pastel shades (don't know why I suddenly switched to pastels instead of tropical colors-oh, and there's a blush I forgot to photograph)

Elizabeth Arden Perfume, Bath and Body Wash, and Body Lotion set (the scent is light and makes me think of beaches)

And candy, because, well who doesn't like candy?

So let's see some entries! If you don't know how to enter, the rules are simple:

1. You must be a follower of my blog

2. Pick a destination you would love to travel to and submit one photo of an outfit you'd wear at that destination. Other details are optional, such as who you'd bring, what you'd do, etc. Submit photos to spilaczynski@gmail.com and include the words "contest" in the subject line.

3. Once I've received all entries, I'll post them and the readers will vote on whose outfit they like the best.

4. That's it! Winner will be notified by email and will have seven days to respond, if they don't, the prize will pass to the runner up.

I know there's a ton of fashionable ladies out there, so let's see your stuff!

And Then Comes The Dawn

Been working late shifts lately, but managed to snap some pics before the sun went down and was mauled by mosquitoes in the process. I must be like candy to them, the way they are attracted to me. Its all for you, my lovely readers. Now I'm off to cook some spaghetti. Don't know what it is about spaghetti, but I think if I had to, I could live on it. Any pasta, really. I must have been Italian in a past life. Buona Sera

A Silver Lining Around The Thundercloud

When it rains, it pours. I just had several overnight shifts which sucked any remaining energy out of me, I'm working later schedules, so haven't had as much time to post, and I also have to work tomorrow (Saturday). But the upside to all of this is that I found out the other night that I'm pregnant! After five long years of trying, I'm finally knocked up, haha. We already have a son, but we've been trying for a daughter for a long time (who else am I supposed to pass my fashion sense to?) so keep your fingers crossed that it's a girl. But either way, don't worry, this isn't going to turn into a Mommy and Pregnancy blog.

Open Your Eyes To The Real World

Recently watched The Matrix trilogy- the movies are a trip and very revealing of human nature. And to walk around as Trinity does, clad in black leather from head to toe, looking like a dominatrix meets a dark angel from the Apocalypse? Well, you never know when you might need to jump off the roof of a building, so that leather's gonna come in handy to prevent some scraping.

However, most of us still live in the so called "Real World", and where I hail from, if I walked down the street wearing the above outfit, I'd be getting more than a few stares. Luckily, you can still get the same bad-ass effect, without the thoughts that you're a devil worshiper or such, with some cool leather pieces mixed with everyday pieces. The key is to mix different fabrics together, instead of head to toe leather. Unless you can get away with that sort of thing, in which case this post is dedicated to you.

Do It With Flare

Been feeling a bit under the weather lately, which accounts for the lack of blog updates. I know, it's always something, huh?
So for the last several seasons, skinny legged pants was the way to go. But we all know how trends always come around full circle and what was cool ten years ago will eventually come back around as the latest trend. Hence the flared leg revival.
